Prabhat Verma is the Executive Vice President Operation (South India, International and Expressions) at the Indian Hotels Company Ltd. Prabhat oversees 152 properties which includes 75 hotels in South India and International markets, 60 ama villas, 17 Qmins and other new businesses in the Expressions portfolio. He is responsible for the P&L of the region, operational standards, human resource allocation, capex spends etc along with incubation and scale up of new businesses like ama, Qmin, 7Rivers brewery.
Prabhat is a hotel management graduate from IHMCTAN Kolkata, an alumnus of the Executive Development Program at IIM, Bangalore and an alumnus of Advanced Management Program, INSEAD. He joined IHCL in 1990 as a Management Trainee with the flagship Taj Mahal Palace & Towers, Mumbai. In over 3 decades of his professional journey Prabhat has held many leaderships roles including heading the UK business, COO of the Gateway Brand business and member of the board in Joint & Associate Ventures of IHCL.
Prabhat is a recipient of the prestigious ‘Young General Manager of the Year – 5 Star Deluxe category in 2005 by FHRAI’, the ‘International Cooperation between the UK and India Award’ (2012) at the House of Parliament by Asian Voice’ and the ‘International achiever of the year award by PATWA at ITB Berlin’.
